The School of English and International Studies (SEIS) at Beijing Foreign Studies University cordially invites undergraduate students from China and abroad to participate in Boya Forum 2017, the 6th International Undergraduate Conference.
Launched in 2011, the conference aims to encourage original research on literature, linguistics, and translation among undergraduate students. Boya Forum 2017 invites submissions that address the following themes.
Cognitive linguistics and corpus linguistics
Cognitive linguistics and first language acquisition
Cognitive linguistics and second language acquisition
Translation as a creative textual production
Displaced and / or re-placed translator
Evasive concept of equivalence
Archetypes in Literature
Heroes and Anti-heroes
Connecting and Disconnecting in Literature
Abstracts, along with the filled-out registration form(Click here to download), should be sent to boyaforumbfsu@163.com by July 10, and letters of acceptance will be sent out on August 1. The full paper should be at least 12 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font, including references, tables, and figures, and they should be sent to boyaforumbfsu@163.com by September 1.
Three papers will be selected for Best Paper, and six papers for Notable Mention.
Boya Forum will cover up to 1,000 USD in travel expenses for five international students, and 500 RMB for up to 20 domestic students. In addition, all out-of-Beijing participants will be provided two nights of hotel (shared room, September 22 and 23).
